For those eagle eyed readers, they will remember that when Max first emails Alli about meeting up, he mentions to her that he used to make animal noises behind her in art class. That was the only real time the college years were mentioned before this storyline, and this is the only time we see them together in college, but this story is not really about this relationship. Still, Alli must have left an impression on Max for him to later pursue her.
