original_post:_4/14/2003________________ This is one of those jumps in logic that is a little forced. I'm talking about Kim and Marie being in the same circle of friends with Rae. Realistically, Rae's freshman year roommate and Rae's theatre friend would probably not be "friends." But the missing story of how they met/ all started hanging out is just out there, and would have taken a while to go into, just to lead into this scene. You have to assume that your readers will go along with you for the ride. Kim is a little more punk two years later, and Marie is very comfortable talking about her sex life. This is a good thing for Rae to walk into, and to transition into the next conversation beat.
