Max has never known the truth about what happened, and Alli because of her honest nature and thinking its the right thing and be honest with her boyfriend, needs to tell Max. Up until now, I hadn’t really dealt with how our characters felt about kids, or having them, so hearing that Max is curious and in wonder about how it might feel to find out you are a father, makes Alli rethink her secret keeping. On a side note, Max’s hand in the first panel is meant to be in perspective, but it turned out a little small (that was not intentional). Alli, in panel 2, has the same blank circle eyes that she had during the third year of the strip (that was intentional).
