I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, and I got some flack that I wedged the two gay men together just because they were gay. I argue that because of mutual friends, they met, and hit it off. There are other gay men in their town (Brian) but they just had an attraction. Willy is in a good place at this point, and isn’t the “weird” guy he started out as. He’s genuinely concerned about his band, and is willing to stick up for it. It was nice having someone that seemed at first like a stereotypical dim-witted guy take charge.
