The reference to Mal Reynolds is obviously my little tip of the hat to Firefly, a show that held a close second to Buffy the Vampire Slayer… and maybe even beat it. It was so sad that it only lasted a half season on TV, which I watched when they aired, out of order. But it was amazing to see the life it took on after the show was cancelled.
