original_post:_3/22/2001________ When I was in grad school for sequential art at SCAD, they had a class called history of comics. This was pretty incredible when I think back to it and the textbook that we used I still have and is probably my favorite textbook that I've used. It's called
Comics, Comix & Graphic Novels: A History Of Comic Art, by Roger Sabin. It's pretty neat to read as a comics fan, and even just as someone that admires history, societal changes, and how a young art form evolves and comes into it's own. Little facts I liked would work their way in the writing every once in a while. But I also like drawing hot chicks.
