We find out after Max JUST found out that Beth is expecting, and that’s the private thing she wanted to tell him, and also that she wants him to run the store. It’s a sensitive subject since he’s a newer employee and there are two veteran employees that are working for her. It puts Max in an interesting situation, one which I have found myself in before. I never considered myself ready for management, until I got pushed into it. Once there, I liked some aspects, but dreaded others.
