She wasn't just going to be the younger naive sister. Mia actually is pretty smart and knows what makes Max uncomfortable. I like that a lot of people thought this would be a pairing that would last. While I thought about it, I never gave it serious consideration. I already had plans for Chip and a certain evil twin.
