Alli’s rash decision doesn’t come across as romantic, but more of a desperate ploy, and it backfires. I love her reaction in the second panel, it shows she’s really serious about this. But Max, especially in panel four, shows that he is too. A few readers had been frustrated with how wacky Alli’s behavior was and were actually pretty glad Max put her in her place.
