Chip finds out here that Naomi doesn't have long, and also hears her reason for helping his friends. She respected Max's decision of conduct. It's almost like if Naomi had an old duel, she would respect the rules of taking 10 paces and then shooting. She's a sneaky, conniving, lying woman, but she also respects Max's determination for Alli. Maybe it's a sisterly instinct, but Naomi probably sees Max and Alli getting together, and after all the revenge, still wants the best for her twin.
