We regret what we said, and nine times out of ten, we say things we don't really mean, but it's defense response. We get so mad that we just want to hurt. It's a terrible instinct with human nature, but it happens. If you can be the better person and forgive, please do it. It might not yield you a win in the relationship, but you will feel better about yourself in the long run. Also Max is sure doing the gentlemanly thing to do, but you know he still wants to be with her.
