original_post:_10/24/2005____________________________ I would like to say Rae's speech was me channeling my inner lesbian, but that doesn't make much sense, does it? I had some gay and lesbian friends, who counseled me a bit with the viewpoint and phrasing of coming to terms with a "coming out." Since this was an important moment for Rae, I didn't want to make it too comical, or over dramatic, but rather give her plenty of time to reflect, and as we would see, accessorize.
