I had drawn some partial nudity, but this strip shows what I like to call "nudi-tease", that is, nudity that's obvious, but the naughty parts are carefully covered up. Alli is only wearing panties, she's topless, they are very close to having sex, and they talk about protection. I was sort of pushing the edges to see what I would be able to get away with and what people would respond to. I also wanted to show that Max wasn't just totally irresponsible. Safe sex is, of course, important, even to a comic strip character.
